Do You Want It
Kaleigh Hoschar
“Large crowds were traveling with Jesus. He turned to them and said, “If people come to me and are not ready to abandon their fathers, mothers, wives, children, brothers, and sisters, as well as their own lives, they cannot be my disciples. So those who do not carry their crosses and follow me cannot be my disciples.”
Luke 14:25-27
Jesus isn’t playing here, church. Buckle up…
He isn’t saying “oh you can keep one close to your heart and still follow me.”
He isn’t saying “oh you can carry half the cross because it’s too inconvenient to carry it all.”
No… if you want to be a disciple, forgo what you love, who you love, what you think, how you act. Pick up the WHOLE cross and not just the part that fits your dreams and desires for your pretty, put together life.
Don’t treat being a disciple of Christ like it’s childsplay and you can hang up your holy robe on Sunday and go live in your sin the next day because it FEELS GOOD.
ISN’T HE ENOUGH?
Isn’t. HE. Enough….
Go be a disciple, and stop falling for the lies of the world that say you can do what you want and be who you want to be.
Go be who God is calling you to be. Lean into the Holy Spirit and pick up the cross like Jesus did.
