Have You Prayed About It?
Pastor Chris Wood

We have made it our family tradition that we will pray over the space and thank God for blessing us with the place that we lived in and we will also walk around the rooms and pray over the individual rooms for the next people who will be moving in after us.
Prayer plays such a vital role in our walk with the Lord. In today’s reading in Luke 6, Jesus goes off to pray for the evening

12 One of those days Jesus went out to a mountainside to pray and spent the night praying to God. 13 When morning came, he called his disciples to him and chose twelve of them, whom he also designated apostles: 14 Simon (whom he named Peter), his brother Andrew, James, John, Philip, Bartholomew, 15 Matthew, Thomas, James’s son of Alphaeus, Simon who was called the Zealot, 16 Judas son of James, and Judas Iscariot, who became a traitor.

Jesus is teaching us here that in life, we must spend time in prayer to help us recenter ourselves back onto the Father, often times when Meredith and I spend time praying the answer we thought we would get is not the direction the Lord would lead us in.

Are you buying a new car? Have you prayed about it?
Starting a new career? Have you prayed about it?
Should I be dating this person? Have you prayed about it?
Where should I invest my money? Have you prayed on it?

As you start your week, recenter yourself and pray about your decisions. I promise you that as the Lord begins to guide you when you have tough questions, you will have peace knowing you have surrendered it to the Lord.
