Knock Knock
Pastor Chris Wood
One of the scariest moments you can experience in life is when someone pulls into your driveway unannounced. Why is this scary? Because you wonder if your house is clean enough! You learn how quickly you can pick up your home in those precious few moments. There have been a few times when I have had to call Meredith up and say, “Hey Babe, so and so will be at the house in 15 minutes to drop something off.” I don’t know if Meredith has some magic wand, but by the time I come home, the house smells like apples, fresh coffee has been made, our children are sitting quietly, and the house is spotless.
Like visitors stopping by unannounced to our homes, may we recognize the importance of taking our faith seriously.
Luke 12:35-36 says
35 “Be dressed ready for service and keep your lamps burning,36 like servants waiting for their master to return from a wedding banquet, so that when he comes and knocks they can immediately open the door for him.
Our faith needs to be lived out like the way we treat our homes. May every area of our lives be accessible to the Lord. May we not have anything hidden, so that we don’t need to scramble and try to clean up areas in our life. Be prepared in every season.
