On Not Loving the World
Kaleigh Hoschar
“Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father[a] is not in them. For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world. The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.”
1 John 2:15-17
From Eden to eternity mankind has and will always continue to struggle with temptation.
I don’t want to fall in the trap… I don’t want to let the world consume my thoughts and my ability to chase after God. I don’t want there to be a day that I choose the world over my Savior.
But I, and you, are not exempt from temptation. To lust after the things of the world.
Yet, Jesus….
Oh Jesus gets it and he gets us. When the enemy took him to the top of that mountain and said it could all be his… Jesus turned to him and said “away with you”.
Those words hold immense power. Jesus spoke those words and so we can to.
But we have to choose it. Everyday until we walk in wholeness with Jesus.
From Eden to Eternity God’s Love shows us we can have victory over temptation.

Kaleigh,
n Thank you for your devotion. What an incredible read! I am particularly appreciate how you made the correlation with temptation in the form of lust (of this world) and making the right choice. I think you said it best "everyday until we walk in wholeness with Jesus"...we must stay the course!
