A Letter To God
By: Pastor Todd

You yourselves are our letter, written on our hearts, known and read by everybody.  You show that you are a letter from Christ, the result of our ministry, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.
-II Corinthians 3:2-3 NIV

If you were with us last weekend you watched Sherlock research Jesus using the “local public library.” I got to smiling thinking how our phones now provide us with more information with a few swipes of a fingertip than all the libraries of Alexandria could hold.  Sadly, there is more disinformation than information out there. This leaves people in your Oikos so confused that they just shrug their shoulders and wonder if anything can be considered really true.

That’s where you come in. You need to be the best book they read all year.  Your life and mine can be a living letter from God to them.  Isn’t that what we celebrate at Christmas?  We saw what God was like when we saw Jesus.

What if your best friends are going to see what God is like when they see you?  Your words will matter more than their website and your actions will have greater impact than their apps. That feels like a tall order, but if the Holy Spirit lives in you, then you have a daily power to impact lives.

This Christmas the incarnation will not happen again, but an imitation must. Let people read you like a book and in doing so discover your life is a letter to them from God.
