A Way to Say Young
By: Pastor Todd

One thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
-Philippians 3:13-14 NIV

Do you want a sip from the fountain of youth today?  Here’s a way to stay young- keep dreaming!  There is an old expression that says you haven’t turned old until your regrets start to outnumber your dreams. Ok, so how will we know that is happening? When we start to think of yesterday as the glory days, instead of looking for the glorious things God may have just ahead.

Paul says that the best things God has planned for his life he hasn’t even seen yet and he is pressing forward to get to that prize. Can you dream that way? God, whatever is in my tomorrow is going to be even greater than what is today, and certainly worth much more of my attention than yesterday!

If you let the accuser, the devil, have his way- he is going to use yesterday’s regret as the proof that you have no tomorrow.  You need to tell the devil that your God is bigger and better than that. Your tomorrow will be proof that your yesterday is under Jesus’ blood.

So, your face may wrinkle, your muscles may sag, your one-mile running pace may slow, but your heart can be full of God’s dreams. If so, congratulations on being so young!
