How is Your Humility?
By: Pastor Shane
Humility is a direct reflection of how we think of others before ourselves. This powerful trait cannot be hidden as those around us can define the truth by how one displays egotism and arrogance or by how we are consistently putting others at the forefront before ourselves.
Clothe yourselves with humility toward one another because “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” 1 Peter 5:5 (NIV)
A humble heart is aware of their identity as a child of God and how God values others in our world, the workplace, and our ministry teams. When we are deeply aware of God’s high value for us, not only can we perceive others as being valued by God, but we also value them and show it by how we love, give opportunities, and define inclusion by our genuine actions. People with humble hearts understand who they are in Christ, and others know how much they are cared about because of it.
Humility is the wise way of life, even though it is often taken as a sign of a “lowly state mentality” in the world around us. Even in an ever-changing world, God opposes the proud and gives grace to the humble!
