Heavenly Perspective
By: Pastor Amie Donovan

“Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.” -Colossians 3:1

Have you ever had a week where you feel like you’re drowning even in what you know you’re called too? Maybe it’s laundry. We are called to do it, but man, folding is the worst isn’t it?

Maybe it’s a project at work. You know it’s important, but the preparation is stressing you out! Maybe it’s a relationship that requires extra effort in this season. They’re worth it, but it can be emotionally taxing.

That’s me this week. I’m treading water, not stroking. At least that’s what it feels like in this moment. By the time you read this Lighthouse Camp will be on its last full day. Without a doubt, I would tell you it’s all worth it and proceed to share every amazing God moment that has taken place. But today is Wednesday. It’s three days from the launch of Lighthouse and there’s shopping left to do, messages to edit, and policies to write out. In moments like these it’s easy to focus solely on the task at hand but miss the mission at large.

Colossians 3v1 is my life verse this week. If you’re where I’m at, maybe it should be yours too. Set your heart on things above, where Christ is! He is seated at the right hand of God and already knows our tomorrow as we try our best to honor Him in our today! When we focus our mind on things above, it shifts how we do things here below. Focus your mind by praying about what’s in front of you more than talking about it! Focus your mind by resting in the truth–if God called you to this, He will bring you through this! Focus your mind by speaking out loud in every space you step “God I recognize your presence in this moment. For you are with me, I don’t walk alone.” This week, ask God to give you a heavenly perspective.
