Real Life Devotional Series “Hunger” -Week 3 - Thursday, April 29

God Honors Hungry!
“Woman, you have great faith! Your request is granted.” Matthew 15:28 NIV
Jesus spoke these words to a woman who requested healing for her daughter. The disciples urged Jesus to send her away because they claimed that she was bothering Him with her begging. Have you ever felt like that?
Sometimes asking over and over for the same thing seems pointless. Maybe you think God just doesn’t hear you and you may as well stop begging. It may be days, months, weeks, or years of asking for the same request.
This woman was hungry for an answer to the difficult situation she was facing. And God heard this woman’s prayer, and He will hear yours. Persistent prayers that come from being hungry is a common theme in the scripture, “The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective” (James 5:16 KJV). Jesus encourages us to ask, seek and knock and the door will be open (Matthew 7:7).
A Faith that comes from being hungry for God to answer, is the key that moves God’s hand. Over and over in the scriptures, we see Jesus responding to the deepest needs of people. The Bible encourages us that “if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us” (1 John 5:14 NIV) and if you have faith of a mustard seed, you can move a mountain (Matthew 17:20).
Be assured when you pray, God is looking at the persistence of your hungry faith.
He is working when you can’t see Him. Keep praying!
