There Is Healing In The Word
Scripture Reading - Psalm 107: 19-20 (NASB)
“Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress. He sent out his Word and healed them, and delivered them from their destruction.”
We know that the Word of God is powerful, spoke our world into existence, and we know the Word of God is divine. At the beginning of John, we are told, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”

Yes, we know there is so much power in the Word.

And for me, though I wish I sought it out more in praise than I do in distress, the power of the literal Word of God is never more evident when I cry out to him.

All God has to do is speak, and the entire world does His bidding. And all I have to do is seek His Word and find His Peace.

You see, God’s Word is literal healing. I believe our cries to Him in our desperation and our waiting and our misunderstanding only magnify the power of His Words—if we just were to seek it.

Too often, we take it for granted that we can feel ‘down’ and google a quick Bible verse or find a quick Bible graphic to pick us up.

But how often do we take in the complete reverence of His Word? How often do we immerse ourselves in the Bible and just take in all He gave us in His Word? What would it look like if we sat in awe of hearing His Word in church or as we read our Bibles—as if Jesus Himself was right there with us?

The truth is, He is. In Spirit and Word, the power of the Word of God exists right in front of us if we simply seek it out.
