Let Me Help

October 25th
Let Me Help!
By: Pastor Todd

Daddy, let me help! Mommy, I can do it for you! Expressions like these bring us joy and trepidation all at once.  We know we can get it done better and faster ourselves, but our kids want to participate. Having our kids help is both their gift to us and our gift to them.

So imagine that the God of the universe is both sovereign and grants us free will. I marvel! He has a plan for all things, and yet lets us participate in bringing it about. What if you saw your day today as included in the ultimate destiny of our world.  Is it even possible that the sovereign God of the universe is going to step back and let you and me step up today?

John 3:21 tells us “whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God." Today I want to use my free will to accomplish what God desires not only for me but for his ultimate plan for the whole world.

So as you start your day, take this mandate seriously.  I don’t want to live shoddy or disobedient today. I want God to sit back and smile as he watches me give my very best for him and others.
