Live By It
By: Pastor Todd
It’s taped to our mirror. I see it every morning. Ten words to live by today.
Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.
-Romans 12:12
Seems like each day our life is like a train- travels simultaneously on two tracks. Something today will bring you hopeful joy, something else will feel like affliction. Since our days have both, one key to keeping your train traveling down the tracks the right direction is those last three words- faithful in prayer.
One way to do that is to start your day praying. Gather your scattered senses before the kids start crying and the text starts flying. Another faithful prayer habit is\ spot praying. Take a moment to breathe a prayer before the meeting, as you walk into that doctor’s office, or when you see the witnessing opportunity coming. Setting our hearts right in any moment through prayer, can help us have insight, patience and peace.
Finally, wrap it up in prayer. Pray with your kids when you put them down, and rest in your Heavenly Father’s love as you lay your own head down. Reflect back on God’s faithfulness and then rest in his care as you go off to sleep.
