The WILD

Children's Ministry (Birth-5th grade)

We are WILD about families and WILD about Jesus...

Because Jesus is WILD about you!

The Wild at Real Life is a Bible-based, age-appropriate, community for children from birth through 5th grade. Childhood is the most crucial time of development in a person's faith and we are committed to loving and teaching your children about God.
Whatever your child's age or personality, you can know they are being loved and taught right on their level. In today's difficult culture, we stand with you in making your family all it can be. We like to say it this way: Around here we are WILD about families and WILD about Jesus.

Pre-K Bible Lesson

Week 2
BIG IDEA: Take another step- pray for others.
We are in our second week of our series called One Small Step. For this week's lesson, we will continue our walk with Jesus and explore the ways that praying for others can have an influence. We continue with a story from the Book of Acts. Two people who followed the commands of Jesus were Peter and John. When Peter and John arrived at the Beautiful Gate one afternoon, they found a man there in need of their assistance. They realized they didn't have any money to give this man, but they knew there was something else the man wanted that they could provide. As they arrived at the Temple during the scheduled prayer hour, Peter offered up a simple prayer to God in the name of Jesus so this man could walk. And...he did!!! And he just didn't walk... he jumped and gave thanks to God! Everyone around was so amazed at what had happened. Peter and John didn't have to use fancy words or make their prayer super long- they just had to talk to God- that is what prayer is all about. Their faith in God's love and power led them in taking the next step of asking God to accomplish something they couldn't do on their own. And for the man who was healed and everyone else seeing it, what appeared to be one tiny step resulted in a huge leap of joy!

Verse of the Month

Encourage your Pre-K and Elementary aged kids to memorize their monthly Bible Verse: Psalm 19:1 (NIV)
They can watch the video above to learn it in sign language.

Toddler/Preschool (1-3 year olds) will be given  the same lesson and memory verse all month long. They will learn about the lesson through age-appropriate stories and a variety of hands-on activities. For the month of May, our theme will be My Friend Jesus Calls Helpers.

ONE SMALL STEP: A 4-Week Series from Acts on the Early Church

SERIES OVERVIEW: Astronaut Neil Armstrong once said landing on the moon was “one small step for man.” The biggest adventures start in such a simple way — especially when it comes to space! Asteroids, distant planets, and brand new galaxies await us once we leave earth’s atmosphere. Being the first to explore such uncharted territory can be intimidating. In this four-week series, we’ll take a look at the Book of Acts to learn from the first Christians. Through their stories of faith and bravery, kids will learn how to take the first step of believing in Jesus, the next step of praying for others, and an even bigger step of trusting the Holy Spirit makes us brave. But they won’t want to skip the last step of telling others about Jesus.

Tip of the Month

May

Have you ever had a conversation with your child and the outcome was so much more than you expected? Those are definitely the moments to hold onto. However, at times, it can be very tricky to get your child or teenager to open up and share. There are many different ways which may help you to do this! Asking them questions about their day or about some of the favorite things they  like to do could help prepare them to open up, think, or discover something new! Be sure to listen attentively when they are talking to show that you care. And remember that  although silence may seem awkward at times, it is alright- it gives them time to think about what they want to share. Be sure to watch the video for further tips!
